본 프로젝트는 진도에 위치한 SONO 쏠비치 리조트의 고객을 위한 외부 공간을 새롭게 제안하는 계획으로, 건축 외관 디자인과 내부 공간 프로그램 구성을 함께 다루고 있습니다. 대상지는 쏠비치 진도 내에서도 가장 높은 지대에 위치하고 있어 소삼도를 비롯한 다양한 해양 경관을 조망할 수 있으며, 이러한 입지적 장점을 공간 경험에 적극적으로 반영하고자 하였습니다.

기존 쏠비치 진도의 테마와 주변 환경을 고려하여 라벤더 가든 부지를 활용한 라벤쥬리 공간과 F&B 공간인 DEB(Dragon Eyes Bunker)를 기획하였습니다. 전체 콘셉트는 ‘언덕 위에 잠들어 있는 용이 그리는 새로운 풍경의 시작’으로 설정하였으며, 언덕과 지형의 특성을 닮은 유기적인 매스는 용이 몸을 웅크리고 잠든 모습을 형상화합니다. 이러한 건축 형태는 북측에서 이어지는 녹지의 흐름을 자연스럽게 받아들이며, 주변 경관과 조화를 이루는 연속적인 랜드스케이프를 형성합니다.

파사드는 용의 비늘을 모티프로 디자인하였으며, 온실이라는 기능적 특성을 고려하여 빛을 투과할 수 있는 ETFE 소재를 외피에 적용하였습니다. 반투명한 외창은 관람객의 위치와 시간대에 따라 달라지는 자연광을 받아 주변의 다양한 색채를 건축물 표면에 투영합니다. 이를 통해 건축물은 고정된 형태에 머무르지 않고 빛과 날씨, 해양 경관의 변화에 따라 새로운 표정을 만들어내며 입체적이고 변화감 있는 풍경을 연출합니다.

This project proposes a new outdoor destination for guests of SONO Sol Beach Jindo Resort, encompassing both the architectural exterior design and the programming of its interior spaces. Located at the highest point within the resort, the site offers expansive views of the surrounding seascape, including Sosamdo Island. The proposal therefore seeks to maximize the site’s panoramic qualities and translate them into a distinctive spatial experience.

In response to the existing theme and natural setting of Sol Beach Jindo, two primary programs were developed: a lavender conservatory utilizing the existing lavender garden site, and an F&B venue named DEB, or Dragon Eyes Bunker. The overall concept, “The Beginning of a New Landscape Drawn by a Dragon Sleeping on the Hill,” is expressed through an organic architectural mass that follows the contours of the terrain and evokes the form of a resting dragon. This sculptural volume receives the flow of greenery extending from the north and creates a continuous landscape that blends naturally with its surroundings.

The façade design draws inspiration from dragon scales, while also responding to the functional requirements of a greenhouse. ETFE, a lightweight and translucent material, was applied to the outer skin to reinterpret the dragon’s scales as a luminous architectural envelope. As daylight passes through the façade, the building takes on the changing colors of nature according to the viewer’s position, weather conditions, and time of day. The result is a dynamic and three-dimensional visual experience in which the architecture continuously transforms in dialogue with light and the surrounding coastal landscape.
