압구정 로데오 입구에 위치한 신사동 664-12 빌딩은 로데오 거리의 역사와 변화의 흐름을 상징하는 도시적 파일런으로 기획하였습니다. 압구정 로데오는 오랜 시간 패션과 문화, 새로운 트렌드를 이끌어 온 강남의 대표적인 장소입니다. 본 프로젝트는 이러한 지역의 정체성을 패브릭이 부드럽게 융기하고 주름지는 모습으로 형상화하여, 건축물 자체가 로데오의 장소성과 시대적 이미지를 대변하도록 계획하였습니다.

지상에서부터 실타래처럼 엮이며 상승하는 건축의 스킨은 패션의 직조 방식과 의상의 유연한 움직임을 연상시키며, 건축물에 역동적인 입체감을 부여합니다. 전통적으로 단단하고 무거운 콘크리트를 유연한 패브릭과 같은 외피로 재해석하고, 그 내부에 투명한 커튼월을 배치하여 내·외부가 시각적으로 자연스럽게 소통하도록 하였습니다. 이 콘크리트 패브릭 스킨은 건축물을 하나의 드레스처럼 감싸며, 압구정 로데오의 입구를 알리는 상징적인 랜드마크이자 도시적 파일런의 역할을 수행합니다.

Located at the entrance to Apgujeong Rodeo, the building at 664-12 Sinsa-dong was conceived as an urban pylon representing the history and evolving identity of the district. Apgujeong Rodeo has long been one of Gangnam’s leading centers of fashion, culture, and emerging trends. The project translates this local character into an architectural form inspired by fabric as it rises, folds, and drapes, allowing the building itself to embody the spirit of Rodeo and its continuous transformation over time.

The architectural skin rises from the ground like interwoven threads, evoking the process of textile weaving and the fluid movement of clothing while giving the building a dynamic, three-dimensional presence. Concrete, traditionally perceived as rigid and heavy, is reinterpreted as a flexible, fabric-like envelope, with a transparent curtain wall placed behind it to create a natural visual connection between the interior and the city. Wrapping the building like a tailored garment, the concrete fabric skin establishes the project as both a symbolic landmark and an urban gateway marking the entrance to Apgujeong Rodeo.
