The architectural design of the GTX-C Line stations, which introduces a new paradigm for transportation across the Seoul metropolitan area, is inspired by “Warp,” a concept that transcends the boundaries of space and time. Reflecting the character of a high-speed regional railway that rapidly connects major urban centers, the design incorporates dynamic spatial flows that bend, expand, and converge throughout the architecture. Through this approach, each station is envisioned not simply as a transit facility, but as a symbolic urban hub that connects cities and generates new energy.

The project is guided by the integrated vision of “Shining Plus+ Express Station: A New Light for the City.” Open transfer lounges and concourses were planned to provide seamless connections between different modes of transportation and passenger routes, while high-speed elevators were introduced along the main circulation paths to improve transfer convenience and mobility. Sustainable design strategies enhance the environmental quality of the underground spaces, and carefully organized evacuation routes, including bidirectional special evacuation stairs, place passenger safety at the forefront.

Each station has been given a distinctive design identity that reflects the character and value of its local context. Deokjeong Station features an open and accessible transfer space, Kwangwoon University Station is defined by a fluid cloud-inspired façade, Cheongnyangni Station incorporates a gateway canopy connecting the wider metropolitan transport network, and Chang-dong Station introduces Shining Field+, integrated with the surrounding piloti park. By unifying multimodal transfer facilities with pedestrian networks and creating seamless connections between above- and below-ground spaces, the project establishes an efficient, safe, and passenger-oriented mobility environment for the future.
