남원 김병종미술관은 아이덴티티는 두 개의 건축물과 그 공간을 연결하는 건축매스를 모티브로 하여 디자인하였으며 두 개의 스퀘어가 연결되며 이어지는 조형적 시스템은 미술과 문학, 자연과 인공, 현실과 이상, 빛과 어둠의 장소에 존재하는 대치되는 개념들을 형상화하였다. 또한 남원 김병종미술관의 아이덴티티는 다이내믹 아이덴티티의 개념을 도입하여 고정적인 심볼이 아닌 매체와 표현방식에 따라 다양하게 변화하며 유연하게 운용될 수 있도록 하였다. 아이덴티티의 형태는 건축물의 모던한 스타일에 조화롭도록 수직적이고 간결한 형태로 구성함과 동시에 동양화가인 김병종 화백의 정체성을 반영하였다.
The design of Namwon Kim Byung-jong ART Museum has been identified by the architectural mass connecting two buildings and surroundings. The sculptural system linked with two squares embodies contrasting concepts such as art and literature, nature and artificiality, reality and ideal, and light and darkness. Besides, the Art Museum has established the concept of dynamic identity, allowing it to use and change flexibly in diverse ways depending on the expressions rather than being fixed symbols. The form of the identity has not only comprised vertical and concise shapes to harmonize with the modern style of the architecture but also reflected the original identity of the artist Byung-jong Kim.
