전통예술을 중심으로 한 남원시의 고유자원과 현대의 예술이 조화를 이루는 신 예술관광단지를 조성하는 것을 목표로, 함파우 아트밸리 조성사업을 기준삼아 남원시의 국제적 예술도시로서의 전환을 도모하였다.
물결을 머금은 곳, 함파우의 지명에서 ‘물’이라는 단서를 얻어 물의 순환과 물의 변화를 모티프로 예술단지의 디자인 컨셉 및 브랜드 심볼을 구축하였으며, 기존의 대표 관광자산을 중심으로 핵심가치를 확산시켜 NATURE, ART, CULTURE의 세가지 권역을 조성하였다.
또한, 세 권역이 확장됨에 따른 세부적 조닝을 형성하여 각 권역의 특성에 따라 주요시설을 배치하는 개발 방향을 설정하였다. 세 권역의 중심에는 예술거점, 체험거점, 조망거점을 구축하고 스카이브릿지를 통해 연결함으로써 단지의 유기적인 흐름을 만들어낸다.

The goal of this project is to create a new art tourism complex in Namwon City, blending traditional arts with contemporary art to transform the city into an international arts hub, inspired by the Hampau Art Valley development.
The design concept, based on the name "Hampau" (meaning "water"), draws on themes of water circulation and transformation. The project centers on three key zones: NATURE, ART, and CULTURE, expanding on the city's existing tourism assets.
These zones are carefully zoned to allocate major facilities according to their characteristics. Art, experience, and observation hubs are placed at the center, connected by a sky bridge to create an organic flow throughout the complex.
